Overview
Telos Health is Imperative Care's robotic platform intended to make stroke treatment universally accessible, immediate, and predictably effective.
During my 12 week internship with Telos, I worked on 3 separate projects - all with the shared goal of enhancing and supporting the Telos system.

Projects

project 1
Imagining an XR integrated Telos robotic procedure
Imagining advancements in XR in the next 5-10 years, I redesigned Telos' robotic procedure with XR integration.

project 2
Status Indicators for Telos System Behavior
Working in tandem with engineering, medical, and design, I designed status indicators for a Telos system behavior. In development and patent pending.

project 3
Revamping Telos' Iconography Library
I worked on revamping Telos' existing iconography library - focusing on ensuring the new library is consistent, concise, and universal.
The rest of my work is confidential.
Reflection
My internship with Telos came with unforgettable experiences and valuable lessons. Here are a couple from my time:

Diving into the medical field
Coming from a non-medical background, diving into the medical space felt like learning to swim for the first time. Over the 12 weeks, I began to become acclimated to different medical terms, acronyms, and aspects of Telos' medical procedure. Getting acclimated in such a short time frame meant I had to learn quickly and ask as many questions as possible, regardless of how silly they may have seemed.

Learning a new tool on the fly
Going into my internship, I had minimal experience working with XR. Over the course of the 12 weeks, I learned and got acclimated to working in a 3D environment.

Backing up design choices in front of stakeholders
I had the opportunity to present work to teams outside of design such as engineering, medical, and leadership. These conversations allowed me to explain and push for design decisions to stakeholders beyond just design.
